During the year, exists shoe fairs around the world. Divided in two seasons: autumn - winter collection and summer collection. Here is were we will see the tendencies for next season. The most important shoe fairs in Europe are: Pure London in United Kingdom, GDS in Germany and Micam in Italy. In USA we have Project, FN Platform, FFANY in United States. In terms of shoe componentes for manufactures and designers we have Lineapelle that is presented in Italy and USA.
But should be important the shoe fairs for new brand shoes?
For all new brand shoes, their goal is to achieve sells in international markets, and nothing better as a shoe fair to present thereon collection to potential costumers and make contacts with agents to be represented in the market.
However, choosing a wrong shoe fair, can be catastrophic for your new shoe project. The cost are high, booking and design of stand, logistic for transportation of stand and your collection, hotel accommodation, publicity. Well, will not be less than 20.000€.
And apart of this investment, imagine your shoe brand in the middle of more than 1500 exhibitors. 95% of them are regular exhibitors in both seasons during the year, and mostly of visitants of the shoe fair goes direct to their stands. They are huge shoe fairs and is not the best choice to present your collection. Because mostly of visitors will not have time to know you and your project.
The best shoe fairs for new shoe brands are the regional and smallest. In this type of shoe fairs, you will have the opportunity to talk with people, they will be more disposed, they have more time. Also the cost will be less, not so many as we desire, however the investment vs return is more adjusted.
